More about Kota
Edit

Kota is a SaaS platform that enables companies to offer and manage employee benefits—such as health insurance, pensions, and wellbeing services—across multiple markets through a unified, automated interface. Founded in January 2022 under the name Yonder Benefits and rebranded to Kota in 2023, the company is headquartered in Dublin, Ireland, with operational presence in London.

The platform addresses the complexity of local benefits systems by integrating with HRIS tools, insurance providers, and payroll systems to ensure seamless onboarding, local compliance, and real-time updates. Kota's infrastructure supports dynamic enrolment flows, automated contributions, provider switching, and centralised reporting, allowing companies to scale benefits across regions without fragmented tooling or manual overhead.

Kota provides employees with access to a curated marketplace of benefits tailored to their location and employment context, including private health insurance, retirement plans, mental health support, and lifestyle perks. It also handles eligibility verification, documentation, and benefits lifecycle management within a single dashboard.

The company was co-founded by Luke Mackey (CEO), Patrick O’Boyle (CTO), and Deepak Baliga (Director of Engineering). In May 2025, Kota raised $14.5 million (€12.8M) in a Series A round led by Eurazeo, with participation from EQT Ventures, Northzone, Frontline Ventures, 9Yards, and Plug and Play Ventures, bringing total funding to over $22 million. Kota is also authorised by the Central Bank of Ireland as an insurance intermediary, enabling it to operate compliantly across both the EEA and the UK.

Kota is designed for modern, distributed teams that require localised yet scalable benefits management, aiming to improve employee retention, compliance, and operational efficiency across markets.
