AIKON Health is a Dutch deeptech company transforming heart failure management through advanced wearable biosensor technology and digital health solutions. Founded as a spin-off from TNO (the Netherlands Organization for Applied Scientific Research), AIKON Health builds on over a decade of research in printed electronics and biocompatible materials to develop next-generation medical wearables designed for continuous, at-home patient monitoring.

The company’s flagship innovation is a modular wearable system composed of ultra-thin, flexible skin patches using proprietary dry electrode technology. These patches can be comfortably worn for up to 14 days, enabling continuous collection of high-fidelity clinical data. Key monitored parameters include thoracic fluid levels, cardiac output, stroke volume, ECG, respiratory rate, and heart rate variability. This continuous data stream empowers cardiologists and cardiac nurses to make timely, evidence-based decisions regarding medication adjustments and patient care, significantly reducing the risk of hospital readmissions.

AIKON Health’s solution addresses a major challenge in heart failure management, where more than 50% of patients are readmitted within four months of discharge. By enabling early detection of physiological changes and prompt intervention, the company aims to reduce preventable readmissions by at least 25%. The system integrates seamlessly with existing hospital infrastructure, including hospital information systems (HIS) and remote patient monitoring (RPM) platforms.

Beyond heart failure, AIKON Health envisions broader applications for its technology, including other cardiac conditions and the acceleration of cardiovascular clinical trials through the identification of digital biomarkers. Currently in the research and development phase with clinical studies ongoing, the company anticipates bringing its device to market by 2027.

Headquartered at the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven, AIKON Health is led by CEO Thiru Kanagasabapathi, alongside co-founders Siam Gnana (CTO) and Sofia Hidalgo (Head of Clinical Science).
